Thai Sweet Chili Sauce

  • 2 Medium Red Chilis
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic, Peeled
  • 1/4 Cup of Red or White Wine Vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup of Water
  • 1 Teaspoon of Arrowroot Flour
  • 1/2 Cup of Honey

I love sweet chili sauce and had such a strong craving for it the other day I just had to make it! This tastes just like what they serve with spring rolls in a proper Thai restaurant- sweet, spicy and fresh- none of that from the jar stuff!

Start by deseeding your chilis. Then add them, the garlic and the vinegar to the food processor and blitz on high until the chilis are ground finely. Whatever you do, DO NOT inhale when looking in, trust me!!

Add the water to a saucepan on medium heat and bring it to a simmer. Then slowly add in the arrowroot flour and whisk continuously until the water thickens and there’s no lumps. Then add in the honey and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Pour the chili mixture into the syrup and stir it around, again let it simmer for a few minutes. Then take it off the heat and let it cool entirely, it will thicken a little further.

Pour into a jar and serve!

  5. […] Who doesn’t love chicken fingers? They’re crispy and succulent and often just a shovel for our favourite sauces, but… they’re usually breaded, deep fried and greasy. These ones are crispy, delicious and everything you love about regular ones, without all of the crap! They’re amazing with my Paleo Garlic Mayo or Thai Sweet Chili Sauce! […]
