Almond Butter Protein Cups


  • 2 Scoops of Vanilla Protein (I use Sunwarrior Warrior Blend)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Almond Butter
  • 100ml of Almond Milk, Unsweetened
  • 150g of Dark Chocolate
  • 1 Teaspoon of Coconut Oil
  • Optional: Flaked Almonds etc

I’ve come to love the flavour of my protein powder so I’ve been using it in all sorts of ways. I usually make these just as plain almond butter cups or my Banana Buttercups but the other day I needed a bit of extra protein so I decided to add it in and it tasted amazing!

Start by melting your chocolate in a bain-marie. When it’s melted add in the coconut oil and stir it until silky smooth. Place about a teaspoon and a half of the melted chocolate into each cupcake case and put it in the freezer to set while you make the filling.


Blend together the protein, almond butter and almond milk in a food processor until you have a smooth paste.


Take out the chocolate from the freezer and evenly divide the protein mixture between the four.


Pour about 2 teaspoons of the melted chocolate over each one.


Either pop them in the freezer as they are or decorate with some flaked almonds like I did! Leave them in the freezer until the chocolate hardens and then enjoy! Store them in the fridge.

    Indy, these sound delicious! Do you have a recommendation for dark Chocolate or perhaps a suggestion for cocoa %?

      I love Ombar chocolate, it’s raw so you get all the cacao goodness! You can get it in most good health shops and online. In general I recommend 70%+ but the higher the better!x
